Nine teams from businesses across the Harrogate district packed into Alberts in Parliament Street, Harrogate, for the annual McCormicks Solicitors Christmas Quiz.

There was heated competition from all the teams who tackled rounds on TV, film and literature, sport, food and drink and a music round which involved having to play Christmas songs on a hoop whistle.

The eventual winners, after a tie-break question on the distance from Heathrow airport to Lapland, were Smith Smalley Architects of Harrogate.
